Just a quick reminder: saying that Mitch Lucker should be artist of the year is just as stupid as AP making Ronnie Radke artist of the year. Neither of their bands did anything significant this year and both would be “pandering to their audience”. Regardless, AP has always been a terrible magazine, stop acting like this is the first time they said a terrible artist was great.

So, its been almost a year and a half since I’ve posted on the page. It’s also been a while since I have actually HAD a Facebook. I probably won’t bother to read the responses to this until a very long while later. Hell, I’m not even posting this on the page. This is an email being posted by the other admins. I was initially asked to come back, but I said no. So I wrote a big post instead.

First and foremost, I want to thank Brokencyde for writing a song about me. I am absolutely flattered by it and I’m glad they’ve been such good sports about NLTB, seeing as when this page was in it’s prime, for a brief amount of time we made the world believe they were child molesters. All’s fair in love and war. That’s a fact. Any other band could have had this page deleted, and surprisingly, its been around for three years. Hot Damn. So thanks, Brokencyde.

Brokencyde’s greatest downfall will be it’s own fans and the culture that has become “Crunkcore”. Who are the fans exactly? Naïve folk just getting into music, who are under the age of fourteen. I recall some of the terrible things I liked when I was thirteen. I abandoned them and never looked back. Many people I know talk about how they ‘liked’ Brokencyde before growing up. This will be the future of all their fans. The Culture is based around these naïve thirteen yearolds, and it will ultimately be it’s downfall. This is what happened with Nu Metal and Glam Rock. Both of them reigned supreme for a few years until Glam Rock was killed by the Grunge wave and Nu Metal succumbed to Radio rock. Why? The fans got tired of it and grew up. They wanted something new and more importantly, the critics, the mature adults lambasted them into oblivion. Compare this to Thrash or Classic Rock or Punk which all in all are timeless and accessible by many different generations. A fifty yearold and a fifteen yearold can bond over how much The Beatles mean to them or argue about if Sid Vicious was a proficient musician or not. You can’t do this with Brokencyde or Crunkcore. You can’t argue with your dad if Antz is a good fog machine player. You just can’t.

There are two places where musicians go after their prime is over. One of them is the ‘heaven’ so to speak. These are your Robert Plants and Henry Rollins’, who despite the fact their music was popular decades ago are still able to maintain their fame in a positive light. Now there is the ‘hell’ these are where you Scott Stapps or your Fred Dursts go, condemned to a life of, for a lack of a better phrase, sucking cock for any money and releasing solo albums going, “Do you guys like me again?” those words of course, falling upon deaf ears or that one dude who didn’t get with the program. This is where Brokencyde and all of the Crunkcore artists will end up because of their own fans and culture.

Brokencyde isn’t going to be brought down by people who don’t like them, because as you know, “Haters make us famous” but they will be brought down by the people who DO like them. Sure, they might be around for a while, but in the end, they will be long, long forgotten.
